25 Journaling Prompts to Find Peace in Advent 2024

25 Journaling Prompts to Find Peace in Advent 2024

We are nearing the “most wonderful time of the year” *cue the music, maestro!*

But how wonderful is it in our modern, overly materialistic world? We are meant to rejoice at the remembrance of the birth of our Lord and Savior, but often, we are far more concerned with what we will wear, what to buy for our loved ones, and who to invite to the festivities.

That is the perfect recipe for disturbance of peace.

However, Catholics are blessed to have the church’s guidance to help us prepare for special seasons like Christmas through periods of preparation for the soul. In the case of the birth of Jesus Christ, we have advent.

What is the meaning of Advent?

Advent is meant to inspire  Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. Simply put, those are the themes of each week leading up to Christmas on December 25th. As visual creatures, the church helps us see the importance of symbols through the advent wreath.

We have the evergreen wreath representing God’s eternal love and life-giving message.

The four candles for the four weeks of Advent as we anticipate the birth of the light of the world.

The three purple candles to remind us to cultivate prayer, penance, and heart preparation and a pink one to represent joy.

Wow!

Below, you’ll find 25 Bible Verses to help you hear God’s word on what it means to have peace, followed by the 25 journaling prompts.

You can come back to it each day by saving this post or follow along on social media to get daily posts with each reflection of the day!
