Don’t Expect Kindness As A Christian In This World
Say I love you frequently, but don’t expect an “I love you, too.”
Give your best without expecting a thank you or gratitude.
It’s easy to invite family and loved ones to a party in hopes that one day you will see the invitation returned to you, but it takes an open heart to invite those who won’t repay it.
Love, in its purest form, is unconditional. It doesn’t keep score nor rely on the amount of love we receive from others. This profound truth should inspire and fill our hearts with hope.
We are Christians. Our hearts are overflowing with graces, blessings, and love from our Heavenly Father. We love because he first loved us.
Bible Study Suggestion: Read 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 and 1 John 4: 19 to learn more about the love of a Christian.
Even in our darkest moments, when the weight of sin is heavy upon us, God seeks us out. His love is not conditional but freely given, with the power to transform us into vessels of selfless giving. This reassurance should comfort and strengthen our faith.
When someone wrongs you, it’s easy to let bitterness take root. But remember, their soul is already in pain. Instead, focus on the love within you, and know that no matter what, you are always held in the embrace of heaven’s love. This reminder should encourage and empower you to choose forgiveness.
Allow your pain to purify your heart by uniting that sorrow with Christ’s. Jesus sees the wrongs people make, but as the savior, he holds on tight to that pain and births something new, just as he did with the excruciating pain he felt on the cross.
Turning the other cheek means you put your vulnerability on display. So, as a Christian, don’t expect kindness in this world. Instead, trust that the Spirit will guide you in the mists of wars and pains, all while overflowing your heart with peace, love, and joy.

You are not alone!
