Ten most INSPIRING Songs of Spring/Summer 2020 – Pt. 1
Here are a couple of inspiring songs I listened to this Spring and Summer 2020.
Some of them are very upbeat and fun, while others are more serene. And I’ve also included a few Spanish songs because why not! Without further ado, here are ten clean songs anyone can listen to:
Jesus Amigo – Jaire Juventud Misionera
This is a major throwback for me. I remember being very happy whenever the choir would sing this song at church when I was little. After moving to the USA, I never heard that song again. But I tried searching for it for years, and I finally found it a few years ago.
It has since been a favorite of mine, and I like to listen to it if I ever feel like God is not with me.
“Si tengo tu amistad lo tengo todo.”
Dancing on the Waves – We the Kingdom
I came across this marvelous song two weeks ago while watching a youtube video. I love how calming the melody is! This song is through God’s perspective, basically telling us that He sees our suffering, but we shouldn’t dwell on that, for He is “making all things new.”
This is the song for when you need to be reminded of His love for you.
Mary, Did you know? – Pentatonix
This song is majestic. Pentatonix further exemplifies the intensity of the words through their amazing vocals. This song goes through all the miracles and wonders that Jesus does throughout His earthly ministry.
Every time I listen to it, I think, “wow, well, I can only dream to every make my mom feel as proud as Mary was.”
It is an emotional and inspiring song, to say the least.
“That sleeping child you’re holding is the great I am.”
Más Que Nunca – Un Corazón
This group makes great modern Christian Spanish music!! Like their other inspiring songs, this one focuses on God’s goodness and wanting to offer up your very best to Him.
“Te necesito como siempre.”
Jesucristo Basta – Un Corazón
As I said, this group makes wonderful music (do not be surprised if I write a post dedicated to their best, inspiring songs!).
Anyway, this song talks about God’s grace found in Jesus Christ.
“Tal y cómo somos nos amó.“
Tend the Ground – Curtis Stephan
This inspiring song is played regularly at my church. It is about passing on the gifts we receive from God onto others. This song talks about something our world desperately needs to be reminded of, love thy neighbor! How can we praise God, yet treat others poorly?
“Sowing hope and peace where none is found.”
Torpe Corazon – Kike Pavón ft. Ander Bock
This song will surely make you want to dance! Well, I think it is an amusing song. It talks about having good intentions, but some times we manage to slip up and make mistakes. The chorus asks God to guide his heart to stay on the right path.
“Quiero parecerme a ti y nunca más a mi.”
El Cielo Para Ti – Athena
This song takes on the perspective of Christ. He is telling us that His love for us abounds. He wants to be with us always.
“Yo te amo, te anhelo, acercarte a mí, te quiero bendecir.”
I Shall Not Want – Audrey Assad
I mentioned this inspiring song in my post on why you should listen to worship music. It is based on a rich prayer called The Litany of Humility. It asks God to take away our desires of being more than others and instead adorn us with the virtue of humility.
“From a life of worldly passions, Deliver me O God.”
Never Alone – Tori Kelly
Tori Kelly has always been one of my favorite singers. (Definitely listen to her song featuring Ed Sheeran I Was Made For Loving You). I was excited to hear she came out with a Christian album.
This song talks about going through life, making mistakes, feeling happy, and then being depressed. However, there is ALWAYS hope in God.
“The broken will be beautiful.”
So there you have it. Hopefully, these songs inspire your search for more songs that promote who we are called to be: God’s beloved children.
I will soon post part two of this list, and in the future, I will make a list of wholesome songs not necessarily religious!! (They might be rare nowadays, but they are out there).
Challenge of Today: Began praying the litany of humility as often as you need, for “he who is least among you all is the one who is great” Luke 9:48.
