The Power Of The Rosary: Garlic For The Enemy

The other day I had a terrible dream — It was about possessed children. I woke up feeling scared, and I still had the taunting images present in my mind. As I regain awareness of my surroundings, I loosened my grip and noticed I was clinging to my rosary.

While I rarely have dreams like that, I have had strange instances when I would feel highly restless or wake up in the middle of the night at 3 am, supposedly the hour the enemy mocks the Holy Trinity.

But the interesting part is that it happens almost without fail every time I strengthen my faith and when I sleep with a rosary at hand.

The weirdest incident happened when I was asleep and all of a sudden I heard a loud noise. It caused me to open my eyes, but I ignored it and fell back asleep. When I woke up in the morning, I noticed my mirror leaning against my bed next to my head.

To paint a better picture of the situation, my bed is parallel to my closet door, where I had a mirror hung. It had been there for a few years and had never been a problem. Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but if the mirror were to fall, it would fall forward and not sideways, especially since the doorknob would be in the way, right?

That night I, for some reason, slept on the other side of the bed, and a big part of me tells me it was no other than my guarding angel protecting me from the tremendous pain I might’ve experienced if the mirror landed on my face!!

Weird, huh? Well, I am interested to know if you have ever experienced anything like that?

ANYWAY

All this to say that it doesn’t surprise me those odd things happened after a renewal of faith. If the devil is constantly seeking our downfall, he tries to do everything to stop us from moving past our sins and temptations. This will result in more temptations and other intimidating tactics.

At first, it may be alarming, but always remember that God is with us. He will not let us fall if we hold on to him!

Now, as Catholics, we are blessed to know we count on the help of the blessed virgin Mary and St. Joseph, the terror of demons, to fight off the enemy. We know we are not alone in this battle, even though it is one of the hardest things we will ever encounter.

P.S I recommend this video to learn about the power of the rosary

I want to encourage you to persevere no matter how impossible it might seem. Don’t let the enemy make you think you are worthless in the eyes of God because of your mistakes. God wants to bless you with love, and all you have to do is allow him into your life every second. It’s hard, sure, but God knows our strengths and weaknesses; he will not let you fall if he sees you are giving it your best!

I invite you to seek reconciliation in the sacrament of confession. But I also want to warn you that the healing process requires time, often time more than what we might anticipate; don’t let that get in the way of your sainthood.

You CAN do this! You can surely complete the journey to Heaven with Jesus by your side.

Sometimes the trials and temptations are worse than being woken up in the middle of the night, but even then, pray harder. Even if you don’t feel it, do it. Never forget that there is power in the name of Jesus, so maybe when you don’t have the energy, or you don’t know what to say, repeat His holy name over and over until you feel his presence.

If you want more ways to fight off temptations and sins, here is a list of things that help me [in no particular order]:

Replace secular music with worship songs (Here is a link to some songs I highly recommend!!)

Detox from social media

Switch TV/Movies for religious books (Check out the blog homepage for some book reviews!)

Blessings 🙂
